An emigrant is an individual, having previously been usually resident in the territory of a Nordic country, ceases to have his or her usual residence in that Nordic Country for a period that is, or is expected to be, of at least 12 months.

Finland

Norway

Since 2008: Comprises individuals, having previously been usually resident in Norway, ceases to have his or her usual residence in Norway for a period that is, or is expected to be, of at least six months.

The emigrant is a citizen of the previous country of residence (the Nordic country).

Foreign citizenship

The emigrant is not a citizen of the previous country of residence (the Nordic country).
